The following acts are recommended for someone who wishes to perform the Tahajjud prayer:
When going to sleep, you should intend to perform the prayers. Abu Darda quoted Muhammad as saying:
Who goes to bed with the intention of getting up and praying during the night, but, being overcome by sleep, stops doing that, they have registered in what he has proposed, and his The dream will be counted as a work of charity (an act of mercy) for him from his Lord.

When awakening, it is recommended that when you wash your face, use a toothbrush, and look at the sky and make the supplication that has been reported by Muhammad.
The number of rak `ahs in Tahajjud
It is also customary for the Imam in the main mosque of Mecca to pray the entire content of the Qur'an during the fasting month by reading approximately one part per day. This practice of reading the Qur'an completely is known as Jatm (full recitation).
Tarawih (Arabic: تراويح) refers to additional prayers performed by Muslims at night in the Islamic month of Ramadan. They are not obligatory, however, many Muslims pray prayers at night during Ramadan.
Description
Tarawih prayers are prayed in pairs of two and one can pray in at least 20 raka'āt according to the two great schools (Hanafi, Shafi'i) of Islam. Some believe that 8, 12 or 20 can be read. Malikis say that it is 36. Due to a variable number, the number of sentences is made a wide range. This prayer is performed only during Ramadan on the Islamic calendar after Salat Isha'a. Muslims believe that it is usual to attempt a Jatm "full recitation" of the Qur'an in Ramadan by reciting at least one night by juz 'in tarawih. Tarawih prayers are considered optional, not mandatory.
